Am looking to buy a good set, willing to pay anything within reason for the best quality. Help!

I've been eying this myself.

Here's (http://www.pcmech.com/show/reviews/367/) a review.

I'm not sure if you should go with the auction in your link. I'ts a refurbished model, and while I haven't had much trouble with refurb electronics in the past, I like to steer clear of them if I can afford it. I'm not sure where you are globally(UK I assume) but it certainly looks well worth the $100 price tag(or equivalent)

It's about the best wireless setup around, but wireless is laggy, so just be forewarned. Also these keyboards seem to have some connection problems occasionally, which requires picking them up and pushing the reset button underneath. But overall pretty high quality. Also my keyboards seem to be magnets for drink spills, I've been through 3 of them in less than a year /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I picked this combo a few months ago myself, no complaints.

The web function buttons on the mouse have made surfing the web a breeze, this alone might be worth the purchase.

Do you own this setup?

I've had no lag problems. Very responsive. I use it for games like doom and UT2004.

That kinda seems high for a refurb, older model combo-- I have the LX 700 duo (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2162,CONTENTID=9438) which I really like and retails for 60-80 USD with a 5 year warranty from the mfr instead of 30 days from the ebay seller. I obviously don't know about pricing across the pond, though.

I really like my LX 700 set. The mouse has a nice heft and the rechargeable batteries are awesome, and the keyboard is super flat and has some great customizable buttons. Never had mouse batteries die on me (recharge when I sleep-- online/on computer a lot), and the cradle/recharger doesnt take up a lot of space. I've never had lag problems or anything like that, but I also don't use it for gaming other than poker where I'd notice it.

I also like the way the mouse looks compared to the mx700.

GL!

FWIW, Logitech just released a newer wireless combo-- lx 3100. The keyboard looks like the one I have, difference looks to be in the mouse design.
