My friends are under 21 (I'm not), and we want to go to Atlantic City. Anyone know any good casinos (with poker rooms) that probably won't card us? If they only card us when we buy chips, that will be fine (b/c I could just buy chips for the 3 of us).

I have never seen the Taj poker room card until i was there last weekend, they carded everyone that walked up and put their name on the list. They still didn't dare id anyone on the floor or at the bar near the Casbah though; so if you're friends want to drink or play Blackjack that won't be a problem.

If your friends are afraid of getting carded just go to the cage yourself and get the chips for them... Play on different tables too.

Putting my name on the board at the Taj is the only time I've gotten carded in Atlantic City. Most of my AC experience has been at the Borgata though.

Ed looks about 3 years younger than me, and I'm 36. Ignore everything Ed has to say since its really not relevant.

For what it's worth, I have been. I left the poker room so I could make a phone call from the casino floor (no cellular reception for me in the poker room). When I got back, the security guard/bouncer asked me for ID. I showed him my military ID and he shared a funny anecdote from his days as a Marine.

It was a Friday or Saturday night, I don't recall which. Definitely during peak times, as there were long waiting lists. I guess the moral is you're less likely to get carded during low-traffic hours.

wrong'em boyo... 3 months ago 2 kids were taken away from my 10/20 game for being under 21. It was a Sunday early afternoon, the room was only 1/2 filled. The security guards came over to the table to say the eye in the sky asked them to check it out.

Moral of this story - playing underage is not a totally victimless crime. If Casino Control happens to show up and catch someone underage, the management on duty has to visit the judge.
