View Full Version : Adventures of the SPM, a two minute read...

11-02-2001, 12:34 AM
In the Valley of Patience (VoP) you will find Rocks, who are imbedded into the felt. They only move when they are ready to drop a bolder on your head. Among the Rocks in the VoP you will find the Gladiators, from the school of Tight & Aggressive. You will also find the Wanderers in the VoP. They come from Any2card Town (A2CT) and Border Town. Most Wanderers come to the VoP with grand intentions of becoming Rocks or Gladiators. Unfortunately they usually return to their own Town mumbling to themselves within an hour or two. The buses leave the VoP every half hour. They always leave with a full load of Wanderers.

This evening the Wanderer SPM was in the VoP, when he should have been on Tilt Avenue in A2CT. The poker god has a strange since of humor my fellow Posters and Lurkers. He is a prankster supreme! Like Wee Willie says, "the cards have no respect for talent." When the SPM had a monster hand. A hand with fabulous potential, he raised! Then the poke god, Mr prankster supreme himself would provided a flop that was a waste land of junk. The gamblers and calling stations from A2CT were in their glory. A flop of junk fit them like a custom made suit of shinny armor. If they didn't flop it, they turned it and if they went to the river, well you know that story.

Bad beat stories are a dime a dozen. So what makes this episode of the Adventures of the SPM so different. We will call it, "Big Blind Rags that Never Saw Action." The darn Rocks, Gladiators and Gamblers kept raising the SPM's nut big blind rags. Well the rags would have been the nuts if they had seen the flop. Trips, two pair, on the flop. Nut four card flushes on the turn, you name it and the opportunity was there. But they raised and the SPM was in the VoP. All he had to do, was hop on a bus back to A2CT. Get off at Tilt Avenue and we would be singing a different tune.

SPM,...coming in with a raise...can stop a blind rag man... from becoming rich and famous...
