View Full Version : Mirage 10-20 conversation

10-20 Mirage table.
Woman1, who must live in Vegas, is in the 2 seat.
I'm in the 3 seat, minding my own business.
Woman2, a Strip dealer, is in the 4 seat.

Woman1 has spent the day shopping for shoes. She is discussing her shopping excursion with Woman2 in all its detailed glory--which stores have cute shoes--which stores have hot shoes--which stores have shoes on sale--which stores have shoes that are cute, but not cute on her (they would be cute on Woman2). Dealers push; I fold hands; the conversation rolls on and on.

Woman1: (sardonically) "You must be fascinated with all this talk about shoes."

Me: "Shoes must be a girl thing. Even when I was a bachelor on the prowl, I never paid much attention to what shoes a woman was wearing."

Stunned silence.

Woman1: "Really? How did you know which girls to f*ck?"

Me: (befuddled) "Uhh.........."

Woman2: "Good God!, you didn't try talking to them, did you?"

Great post.

The shoe thing is because, in general, women dress to out do other women. Men are just the sidebar, or the idiot bystanders.

I thought for a minute I knew who you were talking about but I am sure she wouldn't used the f word at the table. /images/graemlins/shocked.gif If you are still in town, look for me in the 20-40 game. I will be the one that is not talking about shoes. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Zeno, I'm not going argue with you about this phenomenon. However, this post brings a good question to mind. If women really are like this, why be a lowly poor scientist when there are so many perks to being a rich and powerful businessman?

I used sardonically because there was no bitterness in her remark, although there was an element of mockery--perhaps self-mockery. Facetiously crossed my mind, but I rejected it because, at least to me, it can connote a degree of failure in the attempt at humor. I learned long ago not use the word jocularly on these forums. I think ironically might have been a choice we could all have lived with, but saw it as having becomed hackneyed through overuse by english majors. The only other word I considered was jestingly, but it evokes clownishness and I didn't want to evoke clownishness.

Priceless post.

Same relative subject, different take--

I got my comeuppance in college. A couple of female friends were having a conversation about what a pain applying makeup was each morning. I saw my chance to jump in here and tried to add the helpful, "I don't see what the big deal is about make-up. Guys hardly notice makeup anyhow. Once I said this the complaining girl was silent for a second then shook her head and looked at me saying, "That's just like a guy. Guys are SO into themselves. They think that everything we do is for THEM. I apply makeup so I feel good about MYSELF.

That pretty much ended that conversation. /images/graemlins/blush.gif

She's outrageously endowed, very plumped-up lips, bleach-blonde, tiny waist. Kind of a cross between a younger Charo and Jessica Rabbit. Anyone know her?

It's been a while since I've gotten a truly condescending reply to a post, so thanks for reminding me what you can encounter here on 2+2. My question about the dealer was a light-hearted one. If you've seen her at the Mirage you'd remember her. Her name isn't important. I was just wondering if anyone knew her.

Do you think Woman 2's line indicates she thinks that slutty girls where certain types of shoes? Do we think this is true? What type of shoes would these be?

It's code. A lot more women than men understand the code. A lot more gay than straight men understand the code (think Legally Blonde). I first became aware that this code existed about 25 years ago, but haven't made much progress cracking it. There are certain obvious tells, such as certain types of straps, but the code is way deeper than that, and way over my head.

Here's a practice exercise. The next time you are in a club and see a hottie, go to the nearest woman who looks like she has spent some time shopping, point to the hottie and ask, "Is she wearing come-f*ck-me shoes?" You'll be provided with a detailed analysis.

I don't know her, but sometimes she plays the 5/10 NL game at the Mirage. Every time I've seen her playing she's dressed like a whore and sucking on a lolipop.

Although I remain generally naive on such subjects despite my advanced years, I can provide some details:

1. The polite terminology is CFM shoes. Anyone who doesn't know what that stands for will not be able to provide any more information anyway.

2. The only CFM shoes I can identify are backless high heels. Beyond that, I believe the nuances are too subtle for most straight men.

I already know that I am at a loss on such things as shoes.
But I'm still curious what this stands for and admit that I'm stupid (or drunk) to be able to figure it out.
I'm thinking of a couple different combinations....but can't come up with anything that actually makes sense.
Crap!!!
Will someone please tell me...or at least give me a hint?

Okay guys.....here is a woman's definition of f*** me shoes. (At the age of 50....don't really wear them anymore....nor would you guys want me to..but did in my frisky pup days.)

High heels....the higher the better, but at least three inch. One has to be able to walk/dance. Think stilettos.....those are the skinny little heels for the shoe lingo impaired. Very strappy.....showing lots of skin.....sometimes ankle straps. Usually black....or a sexy color like red....or something that goes with the woman's outfit. If the toes are showing.....and they probably will be.....feet have been pedicured. You DO know what pedis are...right???

I mean....isn't all of this obvious?

OK....I realize it isn't....and you guys are right alot of what women do in the grooming department is for themselves and to impress other women. Classic example.....manicures and long, artificial fingernails. Guys could give a s***, women do and spend alot of bucks on it.

Hope this helps....

I have heard of knee high leather high heeled boots called CFM boots. But I probably should have figured that out on my own.

My suspicion would be that clear plastic high heels also apply.

Perhaps we can apply some code breaking technique based on these two staples? I think we need to send this to the puzzle breaking forum not OOT.
