this is a 50+5.
5 handed. blinds 50/100. folded to button (170) who pushes.
i have 750 after posting the SB with 62o.
BB has 2000.
assuming BB doesnt call, its 120 to win 320 and im risking 16% of my stack. what do you guys think?

I'm wondering how you have the bankroll for the $55s.
If you want to Gigabet Dilemna the shortstack, why don't you just call and hope the BB gets out of the way? Do you really want to risk your entire stack with 62o because you vastly misunderstood what it meant to take a SLIGHTLY -EV situation?

this has nothing to do with the gigabet dilemna. and if the shortstack didnt push i would be risking my entire stack here. you have no idea what you are talking about

Just fold, not the best time to go nuts.

and this is clearly +EV if the BB doesnt call.

what about a more suitable holding, say Q9?

Q9o much stronger....tough to say, allin should be fine.

If you push all in, you are risking your entire stack. The big blind could easily call, since your raise would represent only 1/3rd of his entire stack. Doing anything but folding 62o here is horrendous. And for more reasons why, here's Einbert.

Code:

14,958,687,744 games 28.047 secs 533,343,592 games/sec
equity (%) win (%) / tie (%)
Hand 1: 68.8831 % [ 00.68 00.01 ] { AA-22, AKs-A2s, KQs-K2s, QJs-Q2s, JTs-J2s, T9s, AKo-A2o,
KQo-K2o, QJo-Q2o, JTo-J2o, T9o }
Hand 2: 31.1169 % [ 00.30 00.01 ] { 62o }

And we have to figure out how often BB comes along, but if he comes along 0% of the time, we are contributing 39% of a pot where we only have 31% equity.
This should be a fold.

62 for me a definite fold, Q-9 probable push unless I know the next to act loves to gamble.

It's worth adding that if BB does come along, our tournament is essentially over. And for the PokerStove again, it's over to Einbert.
Correction, here he isn't, but if BB calls our equity drops to 18% with the hand range we came up with.

k thanks. sorry to come of harsh before. for some reason i thought i had pot odds with 62 here so i thought i could just do a standard push like the shortstack wasnt even there.

This isn't true. You can't be so pessimistic in NL Holdem, often you will be called and still have well over 30% shot to win the hand, which is nothing near essentially over.

Well look at it from BB's point of view. The short stack pushed, which is nothing major, but the SB just came hugely over the top for all of HIS chips. SB is on something strong. The range we had for BB's call was AA-99, AKs-AJs, KQs-KJs, AKo-AQo, KQo. Basically all hands that a reasonable person would call with, with a few added in that people of questionable intellect might also call with. Even with that we're still sitting at 18% and in a whole world of trouble.
