I have been playing low limit holdem on the internet for about a year(.50/1.00) and in conjunction with reading, hours of play and visiting this forum, find that I can now beat this game quite consistently. I am now building a bankroll (with my winnings) to move up in class. There is a native american casino about 35 miles from my home that offers 1-4 spread 7 card stud and holdem. Most everybody there plays stud and I have never been lucky enough to come onto a holdem game. I just hope some of these stud players take up holdem, because I'd like to sit down with them. They are the loosest players I have ever seen. Could be a real candy store. My quandry is this. I've never played holdem in a B&M and am wondering if I can play as tight as I do on the internet. I have sat down in some of these stud games and fold most of my first 3 cards. It seems that when I do get a good starter, nobody will play with me. At a B&M, is it this way when playing tight starting cards? Or do you have to loosen up to get in the game.

In B&M you want to keep your tight style of play for two reasons:

1. At low limits the rake is much higher live than online, plus you have tokes to the dealer

2. Your live opponents are very likely to be less observant than your online opponents and you will get more action than you are used to when you do show up in a pot.

I think you need to move up a level or two online. When you can beat the 2-4 and 3-6 games with regularity, you'll do fine in most B&M games up to reasonable mid limits.

I often find online 2-4 and 3-6 games to be tougher than 10-20 live games where I live.

Good Luck!
