Yeah definitely. At best the reraiser has AK but he very likely has QQ-AA. Also you may be dealing with 3 overs including the shorter stack.

If he would do this with TT or AQ I think you have to call.
If not, easy fold.

not fun, but i would fold. he could be squeezing with a hand that will hold up to shortie's pending all-in call. likely you're ahead vs. a AK, AQ (maybe even way ahead vs. 99-TT). always the chance you're a major dog too. you have a pretty clean exit here still holding a healthy stack. i wouldn't risk a possible race situation quite yet.

JMO of course, but i wouldn't race if i new he had two overs. my original raise represented only 1/5 of my stack. had it left me with under T800-900ish, i'd gambe. his stack after folding is still plenty healthy. one uncontested pot in the next orbit or so and he gets his chip back.

Folding the best hand with 1000 in the pot for 1400 more is really bad.

But losing your whole stack to the other bigstack who has shown great strength by making a questionable call is worse.
I think you should fold this too, unless you have a good read on the villain making this move with a wide range of hands.

hard to argue that point /images/graemlins/wink.gif
how about these turn of events:
hero is in the blinds w/JJ
tilting shorty pushes
villian pushes over the top all-in
do you still call?
i like to understand/learn that if your call in the OP is more swaded by his holdings or his committed chips...

Any reason for the 3.5xBB raise?

I never said I would call. I'm just saying if I "knew" I was in a coinflip situation this is an easy call becasue there is already 1000 in the pot.

I do this sometimes. What's wrong with 3.5xBB? You advocating a limp, or a 3xBB raise? You think it shows fear of a caller/advertises middle pp?

I don't like raising that much from that early with much of anything.

A 3.5xBB raise doesn't say anything a 2.8xBB raise doesn't say. And when you are forced to fold (like this case) you have 0.7xBB more left to play with.
