Is this completely donkish? BB was AI by posting.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t600 (4 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

UTG (t1480)
Button (t5665)
Hero (t5800)
BB (t555)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 8/images/graemlins/diamond.gif.
<font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to t1430</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Hero calls t1130.

Not a huge fan.

I think this is a -EV play, but not a huge -EV play.

Yea this is pretty donkish. Gigabet theory doesn't apply here because someone else has exactly the same stack size as you...if you lose 1500 chips this will make a big difference in your ability to push people around.

I don't really think that losing the 1100 chips would really affect my stealing ability too drastically.

And even if you double him up, it'll make it take much harder for BB to get anything going since everyone will have enough chips to call him thin.

I would probably call this with paint, but 9 high is just not good enough due to the fact that he's beating you a lot of the time.
