21" CRTs are working just fine for me. Next time the 2001fp drops below $400, I'll probably pick up a couple.

my gateway VX900 19" is 1600*1200 enabled -
which pretty much makes a 21" LCD a want and not a need

yes I have one, but am working on getting a second one. Due to problems I can't get one yet...Problem is that after the Empire bonus I was still down 14 bucks. My rule is that I have to win the money at poker before I can add anything to my computer. My other moniter is a Sony V95something 19" LCD it is great for web surfing but the tables overlap by 1/2. The Sony was 600 bucks (with 100 dollar rebate) and Dell's are cheaper than that, with coupons. I didn't think of getting the Dell until after I had already purchased my new computer.

I didn't think a Dell 2001fp was that big a deal...I was wrong. It is the best monitor I have ever had. I can't wait to get another. I need a good reload bonus that is dam Party related. I never do any good with Party. Suck out after suck out just kills me.

I have a 19" CRT that I am happy with. If I decide to add four more tables, I might get a 2001fp, or another monitor with similar specs because I don't think I could fit two giant monitors on my desk.

Well, saving $600 on a monitor hardly justifies going from 0 to 30% tax on all my poker winnings. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

0 tax on poker winnings? Dam i'm moving there. To hell with all the bikini clad women here. To hell with warm weather year round. I am so ready for natural blondes, instead of the fake bubble heads down here.

But the fishing is too good here. I can't do it.

[/ QUOTE ]Has anybody switched from a high-res setup to 2001fps? I'm currently running 2 21" monitors at 1800x1440 each. If I were to switch to 2001fps, I'd LOSE screen space.

Guys who are gushing, is the 2001fp better 'cause it's big, or better 'cause it's crisp?

they're prettier, and having expensive things around makes me feel not so bad when I have a crappy session. also, they go very nicely side by side. there's not much space between the two screens

I play entirely on a Dell 9300 laptop. I don't play more than 4 tables so I really have no use for one.

ViewSonic VP201B and 1905FP here. Weird combination huh? I will get rid of the 1905 when I am ready to 8-table, actually I probably should do it now since when I am 4-tabling I do lots of other stuff. I just don't want to freak my roommate out, he has no idea what I am doing.

interesting sidepoint. I was in Scandinavia recently. when back a friend who's a biologist asked what percentage of the women were blonde. I said it had to be at least 2/3rds. he said then a lot of them bleach their hair. it's not genetically possible otherwise.

Ok i play on two monitors, one my laptop and the other a CRT with resolution 1440x990. Theres not much overlap when I three table and sometimes four table. How advantageous will the 2001FP be?

I couldn't find the option for "Dell Products suck" so I couldn't vote.

Dell is probably one of the worst manufactured computer products in existance.

I'd rather own a Compaq, and that is saying a lot for Dell's lack of quality.

We don't have 2/3rds blondes, not even when including the fake ones. Tall blondes might however get more than their share of attention from visiting americans, thus leading to selective perception errors. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

But our fake blondes don't bleach their hair until they got that Dolly-Parton-I-dipped-my-head-in-hydrogen-peroxide-for-two-hours-blonde, but rather stop at a natural blonde. We go in for moderation around here. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I run dual 2005fpws because I don't mind the minimal vertical overlap and I watch lots of High-Definition content on my monitors, that look oh-so-pretty on them.

I'm considering switching to a pair of 2405fpws, though

You're probably right that my perception was distorted. and incidentally this was in Iceland, not Sweden. but I lean more towards brunette than blonde generally and I mentioned to my friend that they definitely seemed to be a minority. maybe I was thinking of a minority of beautiful ones. anyway it should pose an interesting dynamics problem. if blonde is a recessive trait, what percentage of a population should be blonde? it'll depend on how much blonde and brunette inter-marry. so once you've got some homozygous dominant (I haven't said that since high school), what should the percentage of the blonde tend to with random intermarriage? this may be very simple, but I need to think about it...

much crisper, and for me at least much less eye strain. Until i got my 3rd one I had a 19" CRT beside the 2 dells, huge difference.

Still grinding along with a 19" CRT; Samsung SyncMaster 997. For the price it was a g00t deal and it handles 1200 x 1600 no problem.

But someday I aspire to join the ranks of flat panel users.

MrDannimal

That pretty much describes me. I've got a CRT I can 4-table on, a desk that couldn't hold two flat-panels anyway, and a desire to not drop $400 on a monitor that doesn't really help me in any way.

I have a Viewsonic VP201b which is pretty much the same as the 2001FP. When I purchase a second monitor it will be a 2405FPW most likely.
