The sb was weak tight. I think the play is push, but can anyone see another line?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t300 (3 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Button (t3635)
SB (t1936)
Hero (t2429)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8/images/graemlins/heart.gif, K/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
Button calls t300, 1 fold, Hero checks.

Flop: (t750) Q/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, A/images/graemlins/spade.gif, K/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets t700, Hero ??

If you check, you have to push here. I think there's merit to bet/folding, but CR all-in probably is best.

What was your read on the button ?

Why did you check to him ? Puts you in a tough position.

You can get away from this with a decent stack and no investment beyond the blinds by folding.

The only time I would check this is if I intended to check-raise a bet from a player that I would expect to try and buy the pot. If this is the case then I push. If he is a min raiser by nature and the pot sized bet is out of the ordinary then fold.

Avoid these troubles by betting early and often.

i'm either pushing the pre-flop or check/folding the flop - but my mom calls me weak/tight.

I was thinking of check/raising as I thought a just a raise would get called and he might just fold a check raise.
