basic potlimit betting question

say the blinds are 25c/50c and it is folded to the button. By betting the pot can he only put in 75c or can he put the 50c call in and then bet the pot?

He puts in the .50 call and then raises the pot, so he can put in 1.75 total

online it is easy to tell what your max bet can be. If you play in a casino or with friends the easiest way is to multiple the last bet or raise by 3 and add it to what is currently in the pot. example: blinds are 5/10 utg can make it 35 (3x10=30 plus 5=35) next raise 3x35=105+10+5=120 etc....
