What are the pros of B&M over Internet play? I hear games at a similar limit are usually softer but is this really enough to overcome the advantage to play 300+ hands per hour? Not to mention rakeback, bonuses, pokertracker stats etc (and the heavy rake/tip structure in B&M). Obviously, there's a social aspect in B&M that you don't get online but from a strict moneymaking point of view, are there any reasons to go B&M instead of online?

No one (I hope) will deny that it is usually possible to make more money per hour on the internet versus a casino. However, for me and many others, it is not possible to put in the same number of hours. For example, I could play a ten hour session fairly easily at Foxwoods, but I rarely play more than 3 hours straight online.

B&M
-------
Free or reduce priced food
Prop deals/frequent player rewards
Softer games
Favorable prop bets every now and then
no need for an internet connection
The Back rub girl
free drinks (non-alcoholic)
most of the dealers are pretty nice folk
All the free cigarette smoke I could ever want(and then some)
Degenerate stuck drunk gamblers, trying to claw themselves back up to even

you could argue that its +ev to play internet poker exclusively from a theoretical stance. however, that is not necessarily true because most internet grinders cannot put in the amount of hours that most conceive as possible. there are other factors when calculating equity that extend past the thought of hot and cold hourly earn. a player grinding internet poker might lose his drive for improving as a player when that drive would be maintained if he had been playing live.

if you calculate the ev of the true "long run", in many instances live poker is +ev.

Like most questions regarding poker, the answer is, it depends. If you are just grinding out multiple tables at low limits and have the discipline to log enough hours, then Internet is most likely to be +EV.

If you want to play higher stakes, I think you will do better live. There was a pretty serious list for the 15-30 at Belterra last night and I am pretty sure all those people have Internet access.
