A good friend of mine is a bass player down in New Orleans. One night he gets a last minute call from Jason Marsalis, drummer and brother of Wynton and Branford. Jason's bass player has some sort of stomach flu and can't make the gig. My friend asks Jason to hold on while he puts his hand over the phone and asks his wife if she can watch the kids and all. While my friend is asking if he can go to this gig he hears Jason on the line, saying to someone at his place, " yeah I think he's cool, it sounds like he's just checkin' with the groove killer"
