...wishes he'd bet the river. As it stands, I guess you have to go with your gut. I'd lean slightly toward folding in this case, because there's not a ton of money in the pot, and overbets tend to be made hands in this game. But you're the one who knows if this guy just takes every opportunity to bluff in this spot. He probably wouldn't bet a 5 here, so it's a bluff, a boat, or (least likely) an overpair. He can have any 2 cards, I'd assume.

I think you are underestimating the chances of villain having an overpair because correctly reading hero's check as weakness he also is going to bet such an overpair as well as a boat/quads here in addition to a bluff.

My instinct would be to call this against an aggressive player...

Well the reason I checked the river was to induce a bluff from button. He had played his hand really weak so either he had nothing or he had a monster.

I mean what hand does he check on that flop? certainly not a medium PP. JJ-KK must be afraid of overcards and the 4 completing the wheel. Even if he flopped a set he would be stupid to check that flop. So I put him on AK-AQ on the flop
with a remote possibility of 22 or 33

On the Turn I pot it since the rest doesnīt seem espesially interested in the pot. When Button calls I am definitely thinking he holds A-high. 33 isnīt as likely now but 22 is still a possibility.

Once that river falls I decide to check and try to induce a bluff from him.
his overbet of the pot made me hesitate for awhile but his play looked so suspect I just had to lok him up

He turned over 68 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif and MHIG
