how is this better than just pushing unless youre up against a complete moron like jtireyjr

i've had that happen a few times in the 33's. 6 players left. it's heads up. bigstack villian raises on turn. i just got tpgk. it'll cost me 90% of my chips to call. i go all in for 100 more chips. he folds.

1. Theres a small chance that one of my opponents is a complete moron like jtireyjr.
2. if you've been pushing every hand there's a small chance that your opponents will read the variation as strength (ie, why did he just now raise less than all in? Maybe he has something like KK)
3. I don't see how it hurts me in any way. If he tries a pathetic stop and go I'm calling.

Becasue he calls you push and you lose. Here he calls your raise. Misses the flop and folds the winner, much better.

I guess so, but theres also a chance that the moron would have folded if you just put him all in and instead decided to call w/ whatever the hell he would call with there and hit the flop then you lose 2600 instead of gaining 600 and I dont think the raise to 2k is going to make him think you have a monster b/c youre essentially putting him all in anyways

sure he did here but how many times is someone in that position going to just call then fold the flop?

Never overestimate your opponents, especially at the Party 55s.
