Verizon fiber connection

Anyone know if this is worth it? Optimum is up to 10 mbps right? The $50 Fios package supposedly is capable of up to 15, but what exactly does "up to" mean (in both cases)??

Keep in mind regarding a fiber dsl connection, that the fiber connection is typically only installed to the nearest junction box in your neighborhood and not all the way to your house, which is the situation for my dsl connection. Nonetheless even such a situation gives better performance.

Derek, I'm on the Island and its available in alot of areas out here. Check out their website (http://www22.verizon.com/FiosForHome/channels/Fios/HighSpeedInternetForHome.asp), you can punch in your phone # and see if its available in your area.

Good point bluff, I'll have to check out where the nearest box is if that is in fact the case.
