If I was going to buy one game for the PS2 what title is it going to be?

For my computer, same question?

I don't know about PS2, but for computer you have to get battle bugs.

PS2 - Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

PC: Half-Life 2 (if your rig can run it).

I don't know if it's made for PS2 but "Prince of Persia: Warrior Within" was a great game. If it were me I'm going with Madden 2005 just because that's what I like.

A lot of people like God of War but I would personally hold out for Madden 2006-if you had to choose just one that is.

But if you get Battlefield 2 for PC-the one game I'd recommend getting- I can't imagine why you'd ever go back to your PS2

God of War

I haven't played it but I've heard nothing but great things about it.

It really depends on what you think you like

San Andreas is THE best game on the system, hands down.
God of War is a great "slash the [censored] out of the bad guys" game
Final Fantasy X is a great RPG (if you can find a copy)
Katamari Damacy is a kwirky game that I have yet to hear a bad thing about
(you roll a ball on to stuff, i know it sounds lame, but it's fun)
and of course Madden is the ultimate sports game

I believe Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will be a nice game to add to your collection when it comes out. What about GTA: San Andreas?

Thank you, last November. This game has been out for six months... and it is awesome.

Half-life 2 is the best deal. The game itself, totally rocks, plus you get counter-strike source with it free.

I hear lots of great stuff about HL2, how does it compare to Doom 3? I've been playing D3 the last month or so and I totally dig it. Great story, great gameplay, great graphics, and incredible ambiance. It's so intense that I can only play it for an hour or two at a time, after which time I'm so wound up I gotta turn it off and do something else for a while. So, does Half-Life 2 offer similar experiences or is it good in a different way?

Excellent game. If you like racing games but like them more arcadey and less sim-like, Burnout 3 is fun as hell. It's cheap, too - I picked it up for <$19 at Wal-Mart (Xbox, but I believe it's for PS2, also).

The PC game recommendations are also very good. The game I'm hooked on is Call of Duty and it's United Offensive expansion pack.

Also, if you like sports games for the console and want something a little different than the typical Madden or NCAA Football (which are great games), pick up NBA Street Vol. 3. I've only played Vol. 2 and love it - I hear Vol. 3 is excellent.
