Got the impression he was strong, I think my hand was disguised, and any hand that would call a pot sized river bet would call the push. Anyone disagree with this? Did I just get lucky?

I dont think he's afraid of your flush, or he would've done something other than call the whole way. I think you get called from a set and the straight here. Hard to put him on a set without the pf raise. With just a pot sized he probably calls with 2pair and maybe AK, (AK again, expect a pfr.) So it just seems unlikely that he has the straight enough to make this more profitable than a pot-sized raise. If you read him as very strong i like the play, but otherwise i think you're better off with the pot bet.

Pot bet = value bet. Push = bluff!?!?!?!?

What about if villian has a weak flush himself? Weak villian with a weak flush **might** play flop and turn this way. Not likely but a possibility.
