Turn: (3.20 BB) 7/images/graemlins/heart.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, MP calls.

River: (9.20 BB) 5/images/graemlins/spade.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP raises</font>, HERO...?

opponent was pretty aggressive, i was expected to get played back on the flop with almost anything he raised with. The river threw me for a loop, had put him on a high pp or AQ, but now what?

I'd muck that preflop vs. an MP raise...

A river 3-bet would be chip spewing big time. MP could be raising preflop with 88, 77, and even 44 because he's aggro. Just call.

As played, only call the end. You've showed a lot of strength and this guy is still coming at you. For what it's worth, you have a gimme flop checkraise.

Q4s is a very weak hand HU against a MP raise. I'd mucked that preflop.

You're WA/WB. QQ, 66, 77, 88 have you crushed. You are owning the rest of his range. He could be overplaying AQ, AA-KK, JJ-99. After the the turn 3-bet, I like cc. I"m not folding.

i'm not quite sure how i ended up in the hand either, as i usually muck Q4s too. too many tables i guess.

villain showed KK, i guess he didn't believe me.

He probably was trying to limp-reraise, and to compensate for failing to do so, went aggro postal post-flop.

Here is a similar hand I was just involved in. Again, Villain failed to raise preflop. I put him on KK-AA, AQ, KQ.

I can't imagine 3-betting the river, just call. I think the preflop call is a little loose, but you do need to defend a lot since you're getting a good price and you can assume villain's open-raising standards are fairly broad. There are worse hands I've defended with, so I can't say I hate it.

An aggro player might raise you with a wide variety of hands on the turn after you checkraise the flop, thus allowing you to collect 3 bets on the turn as well. Just some thoughts...no real "right" answer on this.
