A hand came up yesterday I was dealt QQ in the UTG+1 UTG had a small stack and went all in for about the forth or fifth time so I knew he was pushing in with medium pairs or two face cards so I knew id be calling. Now barring in mind this is full ring if you have a hand that beats the all in player should you raise to make it heads up or call in the hopes of building a side pot? I had about 9 he went in for 1.25 other players had us both covered if id raised to 2.50 would that have been enough or better to go to 3.75
Would you play diffrently with JJ KK AA?

short stack goes all in in front of you, you have QQ, do you try to isolate by reraising or do you call and hope others come along?

thats the gist of it.

Yes that pretty much all of it. The other two questions were how much to raise and would you play differently with AA KK or JJ

it depends on how short the short stack was and how many were left to act behind me.

With JJ, I think I attempt to isolate.

With KK-AA, I will smoothcall alot of times hoping for third player.

If a short stack raises all-in in early position, I treat it as if playing a game with high blinds. In this case the max buy-in is probably $10, so this raise creates a game where essentially you have max buy-in 8BB (or more if there are a bunch of bigger stacks). So in a NL game with 8BB buy-in, what do you do with QQ? My personal opinion is to raise it up to isolate because QQ is a strong hand, but I don't want to have to play against an A or K flop.

Same goes for JJ. However, AA and KK are such big hands that I wouldn't mind someone else calling because if they crack my hand, they're not going to win much more. The chances of someone outflopping AA or KK without an ace flop is low.

With AK, I would play it like QQ because it's a great hand preflop, but I don't want to play post flop, so I try to isolate.
