Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (9 handed) http://216.119.70.224/converter/hhconverter.pl

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with K/images/graemlins/heart.gif, K/images/graemlins/spade.gif. MP3 posts a blind of $5.
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, MP3 (poster) calls, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Button calls, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, BB calls.

Flop: (8.40 SB) 3/images/graemlins/club.gif, J/images/graemlins/club.gif, 8/images/graemlins/club.gif <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, MP3 folds, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB 3-bets</font>, Hero folds, Button calls.

Turn: (7.70 BB) 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">BB bets</font>, Button calls.

River: (9.70 BB) Q/images/graemlins/heart.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Button bets</font>, BB calls.

Final Pot: 11.70 BB

Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF">
BB has As Js (one pair, jacks).
Button has 4c 4d (one pair, fours).
Outcome: BB wins 11.70 BB. </font>

The button had just joined, and the BB is usualy tight/aggro.

Lookin back at this, I feel that i should have called down if no clubs hit, I just didn't like the idea of it maybe getting capped behind me and both these players showing aggression.

Are you folding this?
calling down?
Is anyone capping?

Come on, you didn't actually fold, did you?

If you did...you should've capped, although calling works better if BB will lead into you on a blank turn. I won't give credit for a better hand without seeing BB 3-bet me on the turn.

No good
I call the flop then raise/lead any non club turn and continue betting afterwards
Theres just too great a chance that they are raising with a single high club to drop your overpair on this flop

Also, dont post results

I would cap the flop, chances of someone having a flush are slim. Slow down to more resistance on the turn, and consider folding to another club.

Don't post results, they will sway answers.

Ok, I won't, but why shouldn't I? Just wondering

Because we all know the correct play in this hand was to cap every street since your Kings were going to hold up against their Jacks.

Ok, thanks for the advice. I'm relatively new to posting in the forum, and from now on I'll try not to be so weak-tight /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Cap flop
Lead/Raise not club turn

I'm tempted to check call the river since any T now beats you, this is prolly to weak tho.

Because everyone sees that you folded the best hand and says the fold was bad. I don't think it was a bad fold though. A TAG BB check/3-betting is somewhat suspicious but you're going to get drawn out on a lot of the times you are ahead anyway.

Since we are being results oriented... this is interesting:

pokenum -h as js - kh ks - 4c 4d -- jc 8c 3c
Holdem Hi: 903 enumerated boards containing Jc 8c 3c
cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
As Js 118 13.07 785 86.93 0 0.00 0.131

Nice numbers to post flair. And this is one of the better situations...when he does in fact hold the best hand currently. So if he's 43% or somewhere in that neighborhood when he is good and I was thinking he's probably behind with little hope somewhere around 1/2 of the time...I'd say that supports the fold.

You cant fold this until the 4th flush card comes out. Even then you may still be ahead.

Me personally I would cap, lead out the turn and if raised call and check call the river. Most likely they are chasing one club, or they have top pair on the flop. IMO a call down is in order.

Maybe so, but in the actual hand, this is pretty much best case scenario, i was being 3bet by top pair, and the other guy only had a small PP, I am still currently way ahead with my overpair, and this is my best case scenario, but there are a lot of other hands that they could have, where I would be very far behind. I guess it was a bad laydown, but it wouldn't have been so obvious if one player had the flush, and the other JJ for a set of jacks eh?
