I have heard that you should have 200x the BB in limit and 10x the max buy in for no limit. I honestly do not have any idea. Any insight would be helpful. (This is pertaining to cash games)

300 BB is a safer way to go for limit. Not sure about NL.

Lots of this has been discussed in the past. 300B for full ring limit, 500BB+ for short-handed limit.

NL depends a LOT on the aggression of the table and your style of play but don't even think about sitting at a table without 1000x the big blind. I only sit at tables where I have at least 2000x the BB in my roll.

Tournies are another animal entirely (which I know very little about).

You stated that you only sit at tables with 1000BB. In no limit there is no BB thats why i stated 10 times teh max buy in. If your playing .10-.25 no limit the max buy in $25 hence you should have 250 in your account

Some NL games don't have a max buyin. BB is big blind in NL. Other than that, we're saying the same thing.
