HOW OFTEN WILL THE EXACT POCKET PAIRS TIE WHEN PLAYED HEADS UP TO THE RIVER. FOR EXAMPLE 8s,8c vs. 8h,8d. Saw this hand played and one player made spade flush.THANKS IN ADVANCE.

To do the exact math on this, you need to consider the flushes that still result in a split.

There are C(12,5) ways the board can come all spades...or 792.

4 of these are straight flushes which result in a split pot.
As-2s-3s-4s-5s
2s-3s-4s-5s-6s
9s-Ts-Js-Qs-Ks
Ts-Js-Qs-Ks-As

3 are flushes where the 8 doesn't play:
9s-Js-Qs-Ks-As
9s-Ts-Qs-Ks-As
9s-Ts-Js-Ks-As

So 785 monotone boards win.

For 4 flush boards there are C(12,4) * 36 boards, or 17820, and a split isn't possible.

So, 18605 per suit. Or 37210/C(48,5) or 2.17% of the time you will win if you hold 8c-8s vs. 8d-8h. The odds of tying are 1 - (2 * 37210)/C(48,5) = 95.6538%
