Problem with new monitor

I just got a new monitor and finally got it to work thanks in part to a poster here. I am still having a problem though. When I drag a window on the new monitor it refreshes very slowly so things skip around very badly. Does anyone know what might be causing this. Thanks in advance.

This is a problem with video drivers. Check to make sure that you have the proper drivers installed, and that it is not "default display device" or "VGA adapter". You can verify this in Device Manager, which you access from right-click on mycomputer-->properties.
