lmao. Oh let me think, what sux about Atlanta???? Uhm, the weather, the traffic, the stupid street names, no character, people have no character.. Dude, if u really think PeachTree City is one of the coolest places to live, you really should probably get out and travel more.

I guess you're implying Atl. has a denser black population than most cities.. That's great, I never really noticed it when I've been there. Did u see my "I'd let Oprah Blow Me." post?

What does Atlanta have that beats other cities?

Better Sports? Nope. Braves fans are known as some of the worst.

Better Restaurants? Nope

Better Night Life? I don't know. But I'm assuning with all of the aggravating right wing christians, it can't be that good.

Better People? Again, bible thumping is prevalent here. There's no particular accent, no particular wit.

From what I understand there's a genre of hip hop that spurned from Atl. That's cool.

All Atlanta is known for is being the Delta hub, and homebase for CNN.

Sorry dude, Atlanta sucks.

i call shenanigans. two of the top 5 cities are in new jersey (!), and #5 is louisville, co, which is most certainly not that good.

Did you ever read that 'best 500 schools in the US' list?

I did, and I was surprised that my high school wasn't on it, until I realized that 20% of the schools on the list were from Florida.

I did a little sleuthing (OK, read the fine print at the end of the article) and realized that they were measuring the quality of the school system by HOW MANY Advanced Placement exams were taken by its students. Not the highest average score or the highest percentage of students, but literally the raw number of AP tests taken.

Florida makes all of its students take AP tests, and subsidizes the cost from town and state budgets.... so that skews things a bit.

My point is only that sometimes the criteria for these lists are pretty stupid.

Naperville Illinois is #3 on the list. I have no arguements about that, Naperville is an awesome city (I live near Naperville, but not in).

People who knock NJ don't know what they are talking about and are probably only basing their opinions on driving through I-95. Yeah, the turnpike is ugly and smells like [censored], but that is only a very small part of the state. Do you think the people dropping millions on homes in NJ are living next to garbage dumps?

Coming home from Atlantic City Heading south towards DC, I took the "back way" on whatever the hell road that was, and it was absolutely beautiful. Nice farms, ranches, etc. I saw more farmland than I have living in south carolina for 6 years.

eh, i'm not 100% serious. it's just fun to jump on the bandwagon and give nj a hard time /images/graemlins/wink.gif

that said, a friend of mine lived in guttenburg (sp?) for a while, and it was incredibly convenient for getting to manhattan...probably more so than most of the boroughs. also, from what i understand it was relatively cheap. wouldn't be a bad place to live if it wasn't in jersey /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Wow, I thought we had alot of golf courses, but I never thought Illinois would sweep the top ten.

And I live right near the 3rd best city in America. I also hate that city. Naperville is gay.

Interesting that my hometown isn't even on the list. I'm sure that has to be some GLARING mistake.
However, we do own the #9 beach in the USA (admittedly down from the #5 it used to rank).

From 1999-2001 I lived in a 1 bedroom condo that I rented from the owner in San Francisco. It was maybe 800 square feet and similar units in the building were selling for 500K-600K at the time. Then I moved to NYC and saw expensive real estate.
