I come from a SnG and full ring background and I just recently started testing the shorthanded game to improve my pre-bubble SnG game. What I have found in my limited experience, is that there is a HELL of a lot going on in shorthanded games (5-6 players). There seems to be a good strategy for 9-10 players as well as 3-4 players...but the 5-6 range seems very unique.

Reading other players as well as pre AND post flop play are more important factors than maybe any other form of poker. I'm breaking even and not winning money, but I feel that my overall game is probably improving as a result of playing the shorthanded games. I know that my game has huge leaks, but the shorthanded game seems like a pretty good way to fill in some of those cracks in my armor.

There's a lot of information to absorb on this forum, so thanks for the posts!

I still think heads up is harder than SH, but then again SH is the only game i'm confident with as I have only played full games against bad opposition
