6 handed Party 20/40.

3 limpers to me and I raise Ks Qs on the button, both blinds call. Everyone is loose passive.

6 players, 12 SBs. Flop is 4s 8s 4h. Checked to UTG who bets, folds to me, I raise, SB calls, UTG calls.

3 players, 9 BBs. Turn is the 8d. Checks around.

River is the Ts. SB checks, UTG bets, I call, SB calls.

At 5/10, I think this is a call.

game doesn't matter when you have a read

When I first read the post, I skimmed over the reads. Still looks like a call, but it seems close.

how sure are you that he's passive and how passive is he? the turn checks could cause someone to bluff but a really straightforward/passive player has an 8

Well, passive enough to limp UTG when 6 handed but how passive postflop I couldn't say at the time. I think, however, that most players will bet the turn with an 8 for fear of even an overpair checking through.

Seems like a pretty clear call, asuming the read was more on table conditions than that particular player.
You beat pocket pairs and most XXs and some people like fiering with just the Ace here, trying to fold a split.

the pot is big enough it seems like a pretty easy call to me.

Seems perfect to me. Are 20/40 6m games like that common?

Before the other replies cloud my judgement, I'll say good play, although UTG probably beat you with an 8. He may be passive, but he probably realizes his pair is good at this point. Many passive players will auto-check when they fill up on the turn.

I think the typical 20/40 game, when short, is better than the typical game when full. But when they're short they are much more unstable, i.e. they tend to fill up or break up quickly.

UTG had 56 for the bricked gutshot and river bluff and the SB had AT for the ever hopeful chop-praying overcall and MHIG.

Yeah this hand was more interesting to me when I didn't know you had a flush and I think the river play is the same.
