no real reads on opponent. have seen him make pot sized bets on flop with TPTK against a coordinated board. Probably should have raised on the flop, but do i need to protect my hand on the turn or try to trap for one more bet on river?

Yep too agressive, a min-raise here is good, making it $6 is probably better.

Protect your hand from what?

Get your bet in there on the turn, with a small checkraise, representing a K, but not too strongly. You want him think you might be making a non-K play on him; and, then if he calls you, lead for another bet on the river. A weaker king will follow you all the way. It's the high pockets (and other misc. holdings, A7?) you need to convince to come along, and you probably have to bet weakish for them to play along.

(Unless he pushes you all in somewhere, I think the only real place for you to push is in leading the river. You're representing that the river card helps you in some way and you don't think he has a king; and he probably forgets that you might have a king cuz you played it so weird if you did. That said, this is just hypotheticl and I don't like this line much)

How do you raise a $4.50 bet to $6?

Haven't you read the rules of poker?

If someone bets 18* the BB on the turn, a super miniature raise is allowed. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Ok what I meant was, raising to $10 is probably better. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
