I just read on tvguide that each player will have aheart monitor, this should be pretty cool

2 reasons.

A) the WSOP isn't being AIRED only played, so it's not competion
B) how else can they easily get so many players in one location? They are all already in vegas.

With WSOP coverage going pretty nuts at the moment, it should make for a good audience.

Actually, reason #3: Tonight being the night after the All-Star game, it's the only night (apart from the night before the game) when FSN has no baseball broadcasts it has to preempt in order to show this. MLB doesn't lose any money, and everyone is happy.
