This is a somewhat simple question im sure.

Last night i had 4 4 4 4 in holdem with 1 in my hand.

Today i had 10 10 10 10 with one in my hand.
Today i had J J J J with one in my hand.

These all occurred over about 6 hours of play.

What ARE the odds?

Thanks! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

How did you make your 4 of a kinds?

This is fairly irrelevant.

OP. How many hands? It doesn't matter how long you played.

Also, this is weak. I played live with a friend who hit 5 Quads in a couple hours, about 200 hands worth. Beat that.

There are 4,512 ways out of 2,598,960 (0.1736% or 1 in 576) boards to get three of a kind, that includes full houses but not quads. Given that happens, there are 46 ways out of 1,081 (4.2553% or 1 in 24) for you to have the fourth match in your hand. Both will happen 0.00739% of the time, 1 hand in 13,536.

The chance of it happening 3 or more times in 1,053 hands is about the same as the chance of it happening once in one hand. So, depending on how fast you play, the hand is unusual, but 3 times in a few hours of play is not much less likely than happening once.
