We talk often about how we all believe we are superior bubble players than the rest of the universe, but this time I wanted to ask a different question.

Relative to the (average of the) rest of the field you play against, what stack size do you think you play the best? So, if you feel that you outplay the field with all stack sizes, which one do you outplay them with by the most? To clear up any other inclarity, an example:

When you answer "large" for instance, it means that in a situation like this:

YOU LARGE STACK v.
various opponents

you believe you perform the most better of other such situations than a random opponent A in the situation:

OPPONENT A LARGE STACK v.
various opponents.

I'm most comfortable with very small to average. I think I am too conservative (or content) with a big stack.

Almost all bad players and not all good players understand pot odds and starting hand rankings well enough to play the very short stack.

Clearly very large, its not even close. I just basically destroy the table until some idiot decides to take a 60-40 in a very unwise spot. ( I steal enough blinds before that call screws me)
edit: Im not sure I get the question, I only answered very big stack cause nobody knows how to use it on the 11s.

the larger the better for me, although I do have a tendency to get spite called often because I play so aggressive.

Thats also a problem for me. With my betting I am basically saying "You do realize you have to fold everything but AA-QQ, right?" and with their calling they are saying "Screw you, dork".

I hate that, really. I always tell myself that they're making a mistake by calling...and even though they hurt themselves, they end up jacking my equity and giving it to the other players. I'm gonna start calling spite calls kamikaze calls, cause they're effectively sacrificing themselves to take you down.

Granted, the following doesn't speak too much toward 'skill' regarding the 'best part of your game', but from a strategy stand-point...

A little less than average suits me just fine mid-tourney (tighter than most early). Undoubtedly, as the table begins to thin and the blinds approach L4/5, I'll have no problem finding a caller that has completely under estimated my patience/pushing requirements. Most every occurrence I'll take a dominating hands (w/ all my chips) to the board. Pushing my way ITM w/ my new found FE. If/when the occasion fails to arise, we're usually 5-seated'ish - having pretty good reads on the gang to allow me to steal a few. A pretty pacifist strategy it is, but I find MUCH less of that "V" word in my game....pretty flat-lined stats.

Ps. Stars 1500 turbos.

I picked average. Mainly cause I feel pretty confident in my ability to steal blinds affectively and make it ITM through the bubble when I'm in that 1200-1600 chip range.

Yes. Probably because I'm so used to this situation, I never panic if I'm a little on the short side. Especially with the new level 5, the added time allows me to push with a better or dominating hand quite often.

I like to be small to avg stacked I just feel I have a knack for knowing when it is time to make a move.

I play best when my stack is so small that I am not even making any choices at all.

Anybody else notice that Party has a way of stringing you along when the size of your stack equals one thirtieth of the small blind?

DasLeben

I said "large," because even though I find it easy to play a small stack, I define my game in terms of momentum. I have very little momentum as a small stack, but once I reach a certain stack size (dependent on table conditions), every subsequent push adds more and more momentum. Think of it as how a small and light object has less momentum than a heavier object. Or maybe, how a star has to attain a critical mass in order to start fusion on its own.

Hell, I dunno. I'm probably making very little sense here, but this is how I think of things. So without any more rambling, my answer is "large" stack. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

By the way, the reason that "very large" stack isn't my choice is because in SNGs, I tend to tighten up considerably to conserve FE if I really don't need the chips. Of course bubble play is an exception to this. With a large stack, I'm still out there moving chips around to accumulate.

yep, I even won a 30+3 yesterday, after I had only 14 chips left with 4 players! I think I won like 6 hand in a row!

Big stack, and it's not even close. You can just do [censored] you can't do with an avg/small stack. For example:

Seat 3: OKuosmanen (2350)
Seat 5: pattywack85 (4400)
Seat 10: MJLineman (1250)
pattywack85 posts small blind (150)
MJLineman posts big blind (300)
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to pattywack85 [ 3d, 7d ]
OKuosmanen raises (700) to 700
pattywack85 raises (4250) to 4400
pattywack85 is all-In.
MJLineman folds.
OKuosmanen folds.

Ship it batches.

Mine is definitely large stack. I wouldn't say "very large" -- I have a bad habit of getting a bit complacent. With a large stack I am able to play aggressive poker pre *and postflop* without putting my tournament significantly at risk.

Large stack. So many players play it scared and just want to cruise into the money.
