unfortunately i don't have the hand history available but here goes.

$3/$6 10 players

UTG folds.
Villain is UTG+2 and raises.
Here is MP1 with A /images/graemlins/heart.gif A /images/graemlins/club.gif and 3-bets.
Everyone folds.
Villain calls.

Flop:

2 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 4 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif J /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

Villain bets. Hero calls.
I really should have raised there.

Turn:
K /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

Villain bets. Hero raises

So here's the deal. I can play this 3 ways. Either simply call him down and hope he doesn't have a diamond. Most likely cost 2 BB.

I can fold, giving myself no chance to win.

or...

I raise. He's going to have to throw away anything without a /images/graemlins/diamond.gif. Also unless he has a very strong hand he'll have a hard time betting on the river, thus the cost is most likely also 2 BB. If he puts up any more resistance I fold. I'm putting up 2 BB's here to win 6.5. Am I getting good odds that he doesn't have a diamond (or will fold a smaller diamond?)

I sort of like my line, but am unsure if it's reckless.
Comments?

So long as that's the last $ you put into the pot--barring a river diamond and a bet to you---its fine.

yes its a standard raise. you need a read to try any other line for this turn.

If the villain is tight, then you have chances to make him fold. If he's loose, then he's calling with any diamond and your play is questionable.

Do you figure you will only win this hand by making the villain fold?
