View Full Version : Name my kid, round of 16

I yanked some names from the post I made earlier and added one or two of my own. I'd say there's a 20% chance or so that I'll name my kid whatever name wins this contest so voting is extremely important.

fwiw, I apologize in advance if this is the stupidest poll ever and a total waste of everyone's time.

_____ Marie Adams

(the spelling of each name is negotiable, in other words Abbey could be Abby, Ashley could be Ashleigh, etc.)

Anna Marie is a good combination but I have the feeling any alliteration is bad. Anna Adams Ashley Adams etc. doesn't seem good.

I refused to cast a vote on either of the choices Gwynn or Kelsey. If you end up naming your daughter this you are a sad, sad man.

She's a pretty good sport. Hey, a name's just a name. I don't hate any of the ones on the above list, so there ya go.

Naming kids is hard. /images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Sorry I missed the initial thread but if I were to ever have a daughter her name would be Natalie. It's my favorite name for girls and I've never met a Natalie who I didn't like.

The good thing about Elizabeth is that your daughter then has lots of freedom about what she wants to be called: Elizabeth, Liz, Lizzie, Beth, Lisa, Liza...

This is why I like Alexandria ... Ali, Alex, Al, Drea, and it more unique than Elizabeth

Ashley v. Kayla?

You want your daughter to end up on the pole or something?

That was meant to be my daughter's middle and last names with a blank for the first name, since she doesn't have one yet.

the only two names that make sense with the middle name are jacie and kayla

anna is a terrible name - may as well name her bertha or gertrude

i've always liked that name, though i don't know why.

Seriously? I'd never even heard it before the Indy driver popped up.

And now everyone might think the OP's girl was named after the Indy car driver. I know that that shouldn't be a concern when naming children, blah blah... but still.

Thank God, Dylan & Jordan aren't on there. Gwynn & Kelsey are the only unacceptable names, all the others are fine.

Top 5 girls names IMO:

1. Natalie
2. Lauren
3. Rachel
4. Hannah
5. Jennifer

Names I don't like (sorry if this is your name or the name of your daughter/wife/other female person you know/love)

1. Elizabeth
2. Gwynn
3. Kelsey
4. Corie
5. Any alternate spelling (like Ashleigh)

Natalie is still easily the best girls name.

I would have taken Jackie over Paige, but you dont know how to spell Jackie.

P.S. -- we need guarantees, not vague promises of a 20% chance.
P.P.S. -- Alexandria is about the most pretentious name I could ever imagine. Don't make your poor kid have to live up to that.

And, please, clear out the boy's names from there. I guess it's better than naming them after states, but still...

I think it's supposed to be Jacie, not Jackie. Unfortunately, I've seen it before. I like Lauren the best of those up there.

I really don't like your seeding. Rachel vs. Lauren, and then Gwynn vs. Kelsey?

gorie
07-11-2005, 11:19 PM
Jacie
if this is pronounced "jackie" your daughter will be outgoing, but also kind of snobby. OR she will be fat and ugly, with a sense of humor.
if this is pronounced "jaysee" she'll quite possibly be a slut.

Paige
your daugher will be pretty and nice. but an innocent kind of pretty. possibly a naughty kind of nice.

Rachel
a. she'll be pretty or ugly
b. she'll be nice or mean
she'll have a haircut named after her. or will she be named after a haircut ?

Lauren
she'll have a lot of friends, but she's not a favorite, no one really notices her much.

Elizabeth
she'll be friendly and good looking. homecoming queen.

Jane
omg everyone hates jane!!!!!!

Gwynn
she is into S&M.

Kelsey
they call her fraiser. and she has poor grammar. she'll hate her parents. but she'll be good at soccer.

Anna
short and cute. fun to be around. smart, too.

Corie
constantly wishes her name was gorie. so she'll be depressed a lot.

Victoria
pretty girl, unique, and talented. sometimes will go out of her way to be noticed. behind her back she's known as victwhoria.

Alex
one of the guys.

Ashley
it's just ashley, who cares?

Kayla
she'll like to party. with her clothes off.

Abby
friendly & likeable. CUTE. like a puppy.

Michelle
smart and attractive. she likes it up the butt.

Alternate spellings are powerfully, powerfully -EV.

"Ashleigh" = akin to drawing to a gutshot with 7 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif on a 8 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 9 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 10 /images/graemlins/spade.gif board.

"Ashlee" = burn in hell, you [censored] monster.

Your kid's handle is not something to [censored] around with.

Just being known by my middle name has probably cost me a week or so of my life in confusion, rewritten forms and hassle from GOD-DAMNED EMPIRE TECH SUPPORT.

Paige, Liz, Ashley = good

If you like Gwynn (I'd think Tony Gwynn every time, ugh), I know a kid named Brynn.

A "Jackie" I know is, of course, named Jacqueline, and she spells the shortened version "Jacqui". Pretty cool, IMO.
