Floor Call help

Here is the situation; player in #10 seat has one card protected one not,players in 7 and 8 seat muck ,dealer sweeps mucked hands along with #10 players unprotected card into muck.Floor rules hand (his one card dead). Player has fit ( his one card would have won)right call?

If your in seat 1 or 10 you got to protect your cards. These are the two spots were the dealer may accidenatlly sweep themn in. Ruling is correct.

There seems to be alot of threads showing the lack of knowing you have to protect your hand and the consequences if you don't lately. It's a pretty simple, easy rule. I'm still shaking my head about players thinking they can call a guys hand for him as he's about to fold even though he hasn't tabled it yet.
