Inspired by another message board.
I played ball with Larry Hughes, he graduated a couple years before me. Funny thing is, I was supposed to be in gym class, he was supposed to be in English.

Big White Stiff Jim Mclvaine.

EDIT: And we were in the same conference as Nick Van Exel. He lit us up for 43 in a triple OT game once, but really wasn't all that good in high school

Natalie Darwitz, member of Team USA hockey and 2002 Olympic Silver medalist. Allowed to basically ride through 3.5 out of 4 years of HS....

Unfortunately, I don't think this thread will go too far...but this could be interesting if anybody has any good stories.

DeShaun Foster went to my junior high, then ended up going to the rival high school since our team was terrible. He ran for approximately 9 billion yards against us in the first half in his first varsity game against us as a sophomore.

I'm no sup bro, and I was terrible at D-line (i was only slightly adequate at my regular position OG) so when I tried to tackle him my senior year when I was stuck at defensive end, he left cleat marks on my chest.

There are a couple of "famous" people that I went to school with (well, went to my school). Laura SanGiacomo graduated 5 or 6 years ahead of me. She was in the Steven King movie
'The Stand' and was on a sitcom on ABC. I can't remember the name of the show but it was on for a few years. David Spade was also on that show. Lou Benfatti from Penn State and the NY Jets also went to my high school. He was drafted in the 3rd round by the Jets and played for I think 2 years before being cut by injuries.

I replied earlier and I completely forgot about this until your post reminded me. It's actually a funny story. I went to school with Theresa Bradley in the 2nd grade. She is the daughter of Sen. Bill Bradley. Anyway, we used to play kickball during lunch. I was at 1st base and she was up. She hit a pop up and made the last out of the inning. I was so mad at her for popping it up, I grabbed the ball and hit her in the head with it. She went to the nurse crying and I got yelled at ect. When she went home that day, she told her dad and he called my mom up and wanted to talk to my father. My mom then told him my dad died when I was a baby. So he asked my mom if it was OK to come to school and talk to me. She said sure. So then the next day at school, Bill Bradley comes in and asks my teacher if he can talk to me in the hall. I go out in the hall and he tells me that real men never hit girls because its wrong and how we have to stand up for women and all that stuff. Then when I got home that day, after my mom yelled at me for hitting Theresa she told me how he was a US Senator and basketball player. At the time, I was more impressed with him being a basketball player.

Danny Tamberelli or as you guys know him little Pete from "Pete and Pete". Judging from the recent Nick poll I guess a bunch of people still remember him. He was pretty quiet and a bit odd. Missed a bunch of school because he was filming a lot. He was done with that show by then but did other shows on Nick at the time like "Figure it out".

Oh yeah, Chris Simms too [Phil Simms lives in my town and goes to my church sometimes], but he never did too well in the NFL so noone really cares about him.

First, somewhat famous as he actually played professional sports but probably not really as he wasnt a star player, is Sam Jacobsen, ex-NBA player.

And, more infamous though, is Sean William Scott, aka Stifler! And techincally I went to HS with him, but as I was senior with a really spotty attendance record and he was but mere freshmen my entire 'went to HS with him' probably consisted of appearing in the same yearbook.

Sam Jacobsen is the impetus for one of the, IMO, greatest sports-related quotes in history. Sam is a white guy who could jump. Someone in the press dubbed him, "The Jewish Jordan" which prompted his mother to quip, "He's not Jewish. He's not Jordan either."

The most famous person who went to my HS was probably John Erlichman. Erlichman was much older than I and he was in the HS hall of fame. He was Nixon’s chief of staff. The Watergate trial was going on while I was a student and some of us tried unsuccessfully to get him thrown out of the HOF. He eventually went to prison for obstruction of justice.

My brother (piz0wn0red) played in the Jazz band with him.

The only story I know is from before high school, when he played on my friend's little league team. My friend was pitching, and the batter hit a deep drive. Harrington jumped up and saved him a home run.

Caleb was psychotic in that he would randomly attack people (he was maybe 5 ft, 100 lbs.) but would go all out and bite and punch and kick and have no remorse. He didn't like the gym coach so during a sports ceremony he sat front row flipping him off the entire time and yelling at him that he was "an old faggot." He didn't get in trouble since he got special treatment from staff and that's probably why he stayed such a mess.

I went to elementary school with Jared Holland who played "Sam," the fat kid from the Baseball Bunch.

I've never heard of that show. Is the fat kid in the picture, cause by today's standards those are all skinny kids.

[/ QUOTE ]

The show had two or three seasons in the early 80's. Johnny Bench was the host and he had a special guest every week like Pete Rose, Ozzie Smith, Tug McGraw, Mike Schmidt. Tommy Lasorda did a bit at the end where he was dressed as a wizard. The Chicken was always there doing chicken stuff.

The kids got baseball instruction from the pros and did drills and stuff. My friend was the token fat kid and there was always bits where he was eating candy rather than playing baseball. They probably couldn't get away with it today.

Reuben Houston (Former GT standout CB, who just got busted for drug trafficking)
Allison Graham (Former #2 soccer player in the country who got kicked off the national team when her conditioning fell)
Johnny Edwards (Wake Forest DB)
Darrell Burston (FSU, but I don't know where he plays now)
Deante Battle (Northwestern DB)

That's probably it for students. We did have a teacher win 1M on Millionaire though. Right after he got fired no less. Oh, and we had a teacher banging a student, so that was news too. Oh, and a couple weeks ago a senior won a bunch of [censored] on Price is Right, and was $200 away from winning both showcases.

At that time it was a huge deal because I don't remember too many canadians who were getting ready to be drafted into the NBA. He was actually a very nice guy. Worked out with him and played some basketball with him. He was REALLY popular because everyone knew he was getting ready to be drafted into the NBA WAAAY before he was even ready. From what I remembered he was a really down to earth guy though, very respectful so good for him. It's always a treat when he comes back to Toronto. There were even talk that he was part of a blockbuster Vince Carter trade a few months ago.

I dated the woman who wrote "Dying Young," that POS chick flick with Julia Roberts. She dumped me because I was immature (which is true, mostly because she was 19 and I was 16). Because this is OOT, I will answer the inevitable question: No, I did not.

I went to elementary school with Rachel from the Real World San Francisco. She's about the most "recognizable" person I went to school with.

I went to HS with 1989 Gatorade Boys Soccer POY (http://www.mesoccer.com/articles/soccer-article-514.htm) Todd Haskins; Sports Illustrated did a full-page article on him our senior year. He was a dick.

Also went to HS with the younger brother of soccer player Desmond Armstrong (http://www.ussoccerplayers.com/players/desmond_armstrong/) (he graduated from the same school 7 years before I did).

We won a lot at soccer.

You graduated from Mater Dei in 2000? Do you know Brian King (graduated in 2002)? He was my one of my roomates at UCSB last year. He is a surfer/stoner type guy.

We told him a few times to call up Matt Leinart and say hi after he won the Heisman....

"Hey Matt...uh its me Brian... we played Madden one time over a <forget his name's> house... well I just wanted to say hi and maybe if I was ever as USC we could hang out..."

One of my roommates in grad school went to high school with Traci Lords (I forget her real name, something awful).

I went to HS with the runner-up on the first Joe Millionaire, Sarah Kozar. Although labeling her as famous is a bit of a stretch to say the least.

Oh yeah, and Kurt Rambus' dad was my high-school algebra teacher.

Dude wore purple Laker gear everyday and I wanted to kill him (for the gear, he was a good guy).
