This maintenance on the tournaments has me worried. Are we going to get another blind level, or something else?

Another blind level? Extremely unlikely.

One less blind level? Quite possible (I'm really hoping for this).

I just played a bunch of SNGs, but now I see the message. Weird.

My guess is that they're just upgrading the server or something.

I don't think they'd take down the whole party network for a simple server upgrade, they probably have redundant arrays for that sort of thing where there are 2-3 to take the place of that 1 server that's being taken down?

I'm guessing the only reason for them to shut down completely is a complete overhaul of the software, network/security protocol, etc. Something drastic enough that the servers they upgrade won't be compatible with the old ones, so they can't do it one-by-one.

What changed? I haven't played yet, and won't for at least a couple hours. Curious to know why it was down, and what's different (I did see that there's a software upgrade).

I just played 6 tourneys. No difference I could see, except maybe the players were a little crappier than usual.

I just played 4 11s on Euro. Nothing new that I could discern.

They added two new levels to the ring games (50/100, 100/200) so I'm kind of surprised that they didn't offer a new level of SNG to go with it.

Yeah its really bizzare. Its cool to lose $5k playing 100-200 in an hour but you can't let the fish play 1 $500 SNG?!?

I watched the 100/200 but then they closed it after a few min. 1 guy was down a few grand in that 5 minutes. Insane.

I noticed the 100/200 and 50/100 is on party and not empire. I thought all ring and SNGs were the same between skins. Is tht not the case?

well, party has always kept the bad beat tables, high hand tables and steps exclusive. The 100/200 and 50/100 being exclusive makes it pretty clear party is no longer embreacing the "shared platform" concept. I would expect from here on anything new will be party exclusive. When they do add $400 or $500 sng's, I will most likely only be on party.

Booooo I'm sad that Party didn't add some higher limit SNGs. Who knows though, maybe they will since it seems that the new cash game limits were added a few hours AFTER the software upgrade, and they keep on adding/closing tables. Party needs to realize that if they add $500+$35 SNGs I'll be paying more than pretty much all cash game players when I multi-table. Am I wrong in this assumption? $140/4 tables/50 minutes or whatever average in rake just for myself. Your rakeback would be sick if you multi-tabled $500's continuously.

well, if you happen to have a sick rakeback deal for a partypoker account. most of us don't, playing through empire or euro for rakeback. so when they do add a $500+35 it will be a choice between playing $200+15's for rakeback or $500+35's without rakeback. Interesting decision. for u anyway. i'm permastuck at $55's. I'm runing 29% ROI at $55's over my last 300 and cant make a dime above $55. gets old after a while......
