So far I've been eating cookies, chips and PBJ sandwiches. I need something healthier. Preferably something that needs minimal preparation and no microwave-able stuff. Thanks.

My favorite snack along those lines is raw carrots. I would suggest any raw vegetable that you really like.

I like grapes too. However, when people usually think of a midnight snack they are usually preparing to go to bed shortly afterwards. The problem with fruit in this situation is that it contains a lot of sugar, which can keep you up.

Weird, it's the opposite for me. Sugar totally knocks me out. Whenever I'm having trouble sleeping, I have some cookies and root beer or juice.

If you've never left a bar or club at 2am and seen these little, old Spanish ladies grilling these up with the grilled onions and jalapenos, you're missing out on a late-night drunken delicacy.

I'll tell you what the greatest late night snack is. There used to be these Tony's Tortilla nacho bites thingies. I can't remember what they were called exactly but they were located in the frozen pizza isle. They were kind of expensive but they were like Pizza rolls but they had nacho cheese in them. I think they were made by the same company actually. Those were the best thing I've ever eaten. I can't find them anymore. They were in a green box. Sometimes they were on sale for 99 cents and I buy like 6 boxes of them.

Nachos are a close second.

You might want to get your blood sugar level checked eric. That is a classic sign of diabetes.

Fruit is your best bet. The sugar is released slowly, as opposed to the 'rush' you get with HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup) products. Also, fruit doesn't digest in the stomach, it goes directly to the small intestine (this is why fruit is best eaten on an empty stomach). Your body doesn't spend a lot of energy trying to digest food while you're asleep.

I know it's not what you're looking for, but all the non health conscious people should enjoy the late night milk & orio combo it's highly overlooked.
