No read on BB. Is my Stop and Go action justified?

umm... that's not a stop and go

a stop and go is where you lead, your opponent raises, you call and then lead the next card.

it looks like this

Flop: T /images/graemlins/heart.gifT /images/graemlins/diamond.gifT /images/graemlins/spade.gif
hero bets, villain raises, hero calls
Turn T /images/graemlins/club.gif
Hero bets, villain...

cap the flop and go from there. You're probably still ahead here, and if you aren't, your opponent should let you know on the turn.

That's not a stop & go, but I like the flop action. You're raising a non J/A turn right?
I guess you can flip a coin on the river since he has either AA or QQ.

Well the flop raise cowed me into passivity. I thought I was up against 2 pair or a set. I only woke up because of the river check.

I think I played this pretty weak. I should have capped the turn.

Cap the flop. Raise the turn, call a reraise. That's what i'd do.

I think raising the turn if your opponent leads is spewing. If he fires again, I would call down. He could be getting risky with QQ or AJ, but there is still a fair chance we're beat. If he checks to us on the turn, bet it.

Well ok -yeah - that's pretty weak. 3-bet PF w/ J8? He doesn't have 2-pair. I'd put him on AJ after the flop action.
I'd raise the flop as you did, call a 3-bet and pop any non-A/J turn since:
A) I also raise flops & call 3-bets when I'm on a draw.
B) Lots of people like to 3-bet the cheap street to "find out where they're at" and you give them a rude awakening when you nail their ass on 4th street.

There's nothing wrong with capping the flop though - you're ahead more often than not.
He had QQ?

Given the turn card and flop action, I'm definitely not raising after he 3-bet the flop. I might even check if checked to.

I would be more inclined to fire on the turn if a J came down, as the only hands I would be scared of on the flop are JJ and AA (I guess this could be a re-steal with AJ, but I typically do not like giving donks credit for advanced plays). Once the J comes down, it makes it extremely unlikely that he has JJ, now the only 3-betting hand I am behind is AA; pfft.

Anyway, I cap that flop and see what happens from there. Once the second J comes down I think I am ahead of pretty much anything he could have, and if I am not he will let me know.

Yeah, against an unknown you're right. I had a read in mind from a different thread.
