What high stakes mixed games does Foxwoods offer? I'm looking for a 40-80/50-100/75-150/100-200 level.

Do they regularly hold straight limit holdem at these limits, or are most of the running games mixed? When I turn 21 in 6 months I'm probably going to want to play there and figured I should learn a second game since I'm not familiar with anything other than holdem and want to play at this level.

I'm not going to be able to play in SHOE type games because I won't be able to learn all the games fast enough, so do they regularly spread H/S(e?) or H/O(e?)?

Also, how good is the action in these games? Lots of fish or is it mainly regular grinders?

Generally there is a 75/150 stud game going all the time. Other then that its pretty much a crap shoot. I've seen 40/80 hoe. Mostly it is Stud though

is it straight stud or stud/holdem? stud8?

The 75 game which goes all the time is straight stud. I have only seen stud played in a mixed game when they play real high. Stud is definately the game at foxwoods.
Did you say your almost 21 and you have never been in foxwoods. First time I ever went in there I was 18. I was in there many times before I turned 21, and was never carded.

I was there yesterday and the highest games going were a 150-300 OE (Omaha Hi/lo, Stud hi/lo), the 75-150 Stud only game and a 50-100 HOE game. Generally, I think they spread whatever the people willing to play that high want to play. If they've got an interest list up for some specific rotation, if you can find the guys on it, you might be able to barter it into a different rotation in the interests of getting the game going.

I don't play this big, though, so if that's a totally inappropriate thing to do, somebody correct me.

20-40 hold'em runs pretty regularly. I don't get down there during the week so I don't know what its like on weekdays but I can't remember the last time I was there between Friday night and Sunday night when there wasn't at least one 20-40 table running. I've only seen straight holdem games higher than that during the WPT event at Foxwoods (in November? I think that's right).

I occasionally see an interest list for 50-100 hold'em but I don't think I've ever seen it get going.

During the week they tend to get 1 20-40 table going from what I've seen.

That seems pretty ridiculous that the Woods (near several major metropolitan areas) can't get higher stakes games going on a regular basis. Probably poor management.

yes this thread is really upsetting me. i was planning to play regularly at the woods when i turn 21 but i dont think i want to put in full time hours playing 20/40.

The higher mixed games there are sort of irregular. Don't expect to see them during the week, but there's a decent chance something will be going on the weekends. Usually it's gonna be 50/100-150/300 H.O.E. or O.E. You'll see some straight O/8 get going at these limits as well. As for game quality, I'd say there's about 4 or 5 players that are pretty tough that frequent these games (you probably won't have deal with them all at once) and about a dozen others who range from ok/mediocre to complete action-junky assclowns. You can expect to see maybe 2 tough players, 2-3 mediocre players, and 2-3 donks in a typical game. Do what you can to make sure holdem is included in the mix, because there are several players who are very good at the split games, but play holdem weakly. Also, the weak/tight mediocre players obviously fare worse at Holdem that at O/8 or Stud/8. The 75 stud game goes regularly.

Why do you think we were trying to get you to move near AC instead?? Borgata had 40-80 and 80-160 this weekend virtually 24-7 (a few dead spots in the morning). Both games were excellent. Game selection at Foxwoods SUCKS if you're looking for hold em over 20-40 (and even the 20-40 pales in comparison to AC). I'm sure the 75 stud game is good, I'll have to check that out if I go back there (that game is also great at Taj Mahal in AC - and goes 24-7).
