Here's a hand from PokerPlex (the Cryptos aren't supported by bisonbison, so you'll have to do with my typing out.) No read on villain.

PokerPlex $1/2 limit (10 handed)

PREFLOP
Hero in MP2 with K /images/graemlins/heart.gifK /images/graemlins/spade.gif, CO posts bb.

UTG calls, 3 folds, Hero raises, 5 folds, UTG calls.

FLOP (pot - 6.5 sb)
9 /images/graemlins/club.gif3 /images/graemlins/spade.gif5 /images/graemlins/club.gif

UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG calls.

TURN (pot - 4.25 bb)
9 /images/graemlins/spade.gif

UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG raises, Hero calls.

RIVER (pot - 8.25 bb)
Q /images/graemlins/spade.gif

UTG bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 10.25 bb

Looks fine with no read. A check raise on the turn usually means trouble.

Yes, I think UTG made trip nines on the turn and you only had two outs. How close am I?

he probably donked an improved flush draw and sucked out on the river. no reads, a 9 is possible, however, this is probably a semi-bluff raise.

i'd play it the same.

I would probably (depending on reads) fold the river if it was a club. Here I think you will be fine 10% of times to call the river bet.

He has to likely call two bets to get to showdown though, so he'll be paying 2 bets for a shot at that 10BB pot.
