getting on a plane tonight and i want to sleep through the flight. if i take chlor-trimeton, will that do the trick? it's an anti-histamine that didn't say anything about "non-drowsy" on the box. it did say it might cause excitability, especially in kids, but also might cause drowsiness.

its never made me drowsy, but a lot of that has to do with your own body's chemistry . just drink a lot of wine /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Is that the active ingredient in Benadryl? That stuff tends to make me pretty tired.

It won't knock you out, just make you a tiny bit drowsy, if at all. Benadryl capsules (pink box) should do much better. 2 of the 25mgs should make you pretty woozy but you might get a "hangover" effect when you wake up so don't expect to be 100% when you do.

Benadryl = diphenhydramine
Chlotrimeton = chlorpheniramine

10% alcohol (20 proof), yessir that'll do the trick. Would you like a shot of Jack with your cold medication?
