a 2+2 said, O8 is boring, here's why:

you'll only be playing about 15-18% of hands PF and on the flop dumping roughly 40-50% of your hands on the flop if you can't scoop the pot.

is this true at the lower stakes where people will call you down with anything?

Maulik,

He's close, especially at the beginning.

I certainly don't think that is the case at PLO 8, and part of the "fun" for me (when I play limit) is trying to figure out which hands that were borderline to me a lot earlier are not only playable, but can be made into winners.

But...I think it can be a very good game if you are into playing more than one table at once.

You are saying a poker version of “Apples don’t taste good” -- it's personal preference.

Most poker games are boring, if you define boring as having a fold a lot preflop and needing to fold a lot post flop.

You can play roughly the same number of hands in limit O8 as in Limit holdem

You can play almost the same number of hands in pot limit O8 as in no-limit holdem

O8 emphasizes different skill sets than some other versions of poker – it’s more mathematical, more about hand evaluation. It’s less about reading your opponent, and less about bluffing.
