No. With a gutshot you need about 12:1 in odds (including implied, if you think you can get his stack in) to peel one card off.

Since 1)there is also a flush draw on board, 2)your gutshot is not to the nuts AND 3)you still have someone left to act after you I think it pretty -EV to call a near pot sized bet here. Also being OOP sucks as you are less likely to get a free look on the turn.

FWIW, I think I remember from SSH Ed saying that a backdoor flush was worth about 1 extra out I think if you see both cards, can't remember for sure.

* It's an open-ended straight draw, not a gut-shot..

* I'd fold pre-flop. Twice.

* Calling the flop is OK if you think he'll pay if you hit your straight.
EDIT: I didn't notice MP3. This is not the time to take one off w/ one person left to act drawing to to a non-nut straight OOP.

* Raise more on the turn.

* Odds of hitting a BD flush-draw is (10/47) * (9/46) or roughly 4%. They are almost never worth chasing in NL.

I didn't really look at the board well and assumed it was a gutshot cause of the title. Didn't notice the double gutter.
Changes it some cause double gutters are so sneaky but the flush draw makes it iffy as you can only count 6 clean outs for sure.

It's not even a double gutter...look at the board...it's straight-up open-ended 7-8-9-T

What you actually have is an OESD and backdoor flush draw. I would much prefer raising over calling this flop. An even better line would have been to fold pf though. JMO

This is a good call, IMO.

Lol, I can't read when it's past my betime!

Also, OP due to your stack sizes I would probably just push the turn after his bet. If he has anything he'll most likely call you there as he'll be getting a decent price. A push wouldn't even be pot sized at that point.

Yes cause impled your getting more people tend to pay off straight draws much more than they do flush draws so id see one more. Plus if the turn brings a diamond you get even more outs so id def peel one off considering you can take his whole buy in. If he had less than 60 u def fodl there 100+ peel one off...
