View Full Version : Weekend Challenge : MPM$

More Poker = More $$$

In my continual effort to motivate myself to play more hands and have fun doing it, I have challeneged all who dare to enter this bracket. And by all, I mean exactly four or so more people.

Rules:

-The challenge lasts from this Friday thru Sunday.
-You must play 1k hands per day at your normal limits. If you play more, only your first 1k hands of the day count toward the challenge.
-Player who earns the most BB's over the 3k hands wins. $50 entry/player, winner takes all.
-Limit hold'em hands only.

So far it's for sure me, Evan, Soma, and DeathDonkey and we want like, four more players. You must be a reputable 2p2'er to enter, since we'll be doing this largely based on the honor system. This is all off the top of my head, so I'm sure more rules will be added as needed.

Four more please?

Hey Got,
I don't know if I'm reputable enough but I'd def be in if I didn't have to head up to help my girlfriend paint her new grad school apartment on Saturday. It doesn't have internet yet so I won't be playing much (if any) after tommorrow until Sunday night. If you ever do this challenge again I definitely want a piece of it.

Good luck,
Matt

Frank: I told my wife I wouldn't drink tonight. Besides, I got a big day tomorrow. You guys have a great time.

College Student: A big day? Doing what?

Frank: Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time.

Very nice Sully. "Cock, Balls"

P.S. I hope this is the same Sully who was calling everyone at the table a Fish tonight when he got owned. It was especiially funny though when you had AA and there were three callers and I called with 65s from the BB and bet an OESD, then hit a straight on the turn. You then flipped out and called me a fish and went nuts. Hope that was the same guy.

Adios,
Matt the Fish

P.S. If you can tell me what you would've done differently in that hand in my shoes I'll shut up, but only if that was you, which you'll probably deny either way.

I can say with absolute and complete certainty that I was not the Sully in question.

First of all, I wasted my evening playing tournaments, so I don't think we were at the same table.

But more importantly, I have never in my life been guilty of that. Never. And I take offense to those who do...it pisses me off to no end. Sit there and take it like a man.

If you want to pm me, I'll give you my Empire screen name, which does have the word sully in it. I play anywhere from 15/30 to 30/60.

I'm not even sure why I care this much to defend myself, but it really bothers me.

The easiest way I can think of is to go to game notes, order them starting with the oldest hand on that day, then export to excel. Use excel to sum the top 1k cells of net profit.

If that confuses anyone and you dont know how to do it you can send me your exported excel file at the email address is my profile and I'll do it for you.

I'll probably just be crossing the midnight barrier as I finish, but I figure that is still within the spirit of the wager as my PT options tab says that my day starts at 10am.. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Excuse the hijack, but could someone tell me how to export to a graph like this, please? I see the export button, but it says I need to export to a file. Can you explain what that means and how to get it from the file to excel? Once its in Excel, do I make my own chart from that data?

It also says that it exports in 100-300 hand increments. How that affect me if I want to export 1000s of hands into a chart?

OK, you win, Evan falls a bit short in the variance category this time.

As an aside, I realize of course that swings like that are commonplace, it's just funny to see them on a graphical page. That should be a requirement for people who post about win rates, do I have enough hands, am I a winner, etc. They should have to graph their results for a while, to see what the swings look like.

Of course, for some people, it wouldn't matter:
