Empirepoker No-limit Hold-em Tourney

This is on the very first hand. Hero is BB. Everyone folds to SB, who limps pre-flop. Hero checks.

Hero: 3 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif4 /images/graemlins/club.gif

Flop: 5 /images/graemlins/spade.gif6 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif7 /images/graemlins/heart.gif

SB goes all in. Hero folds. What should I have done? (be easy, this is my first post.... thanks!)

Oh my.

Please call next time. How often do you think he has 98?

Rather, what hands do you put him on? What are the possibilities?

I'd call, and start up a new tournament if I get shown 48 or 89. I'd expect to see two pair, top pair good kicker, or even nothing at all more often though. No flush draws, no paired board, so the only hands that already beat you are the higher straights...

I guess I put him on an open-ended or a low pocket pair. He ended up busting out a bit later in the game. He was playing real loose. But I had no way of knowing that since it was the first hand in the tourney.

I'm crying. You have to call. Could be a higher straight sometimes, but most of the time it won't be.

Ouch, I call here thinking that if he has 48 or 89 he would attempt to get a little more $$$ from you. I'm guessing he has top pair or something similar and simply doesn't want you around.

It's early in the game, but I make this call 100% of the time at this point in the game.

i would say the odds you're behind here are 2% tops, and probably much lower. i giggle and call.
