Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 4/images/graemlins/spade.gif, A/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
3 folds, MP1 calls, 2 folds, Hero calls, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (4 SB) J/images/graemlins/club.gif, 7/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 4/images/graemlins/heart.gif (4 players)
SB checks, BB bets, MP1 folds, Hero calls, SB folds.

WAs it ok to call the flop?

Turn: (3 BB) 8/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (2 players)
BB bets, Hero folds.

Final Pot: 4 BB

You have an overcard+bdfd+pair. You might want to raise to get a free card. If he 3 bets you on the flop call and c-f turn UI.
On the other hand if he calls hopefully he checks /images/graemlins/laugh.gif and you see the turn and river for free.

my two cents

I'd call but check fold UI.

Beginner question here. What are his outs? 2 for the 4's and 1.5 for the backdoor flush draw? Do you discount the A's to 1.5 or do you count them as full three outs?

The pot is awful small for me to continue but I'm sometimes tighter than I should be.

I dislike limping with Axs with only 1 limper in front of me. It winds me up in trouble too often.

On the flop, you've got no reason to think that he's not just betting out with weakly-played overcards or KJ/QJ, so your 3 ace outs might be clean, plus the 2 4s, plus 1.5 or so for the BDNFD, so call it 6 outs. I think your worst option here is calling (6 outs being a marginal call in a 5 bet pot), closely followed by folding. I'd raise and see if you can take it down right there. If BB 3-bets, depending on your read of him, I give him credit for having a set or weird two-pair and either bail out there or call and fold the turn UI.

But, again, probably not a hand you want to get involved in in the first place.

any reads on MP1? what's this open-limp? i'd raise preflop depending on tightness of blinds. better to get it HU. other than that limping is not horrible, but i think folding would be.

is BB aggressive? if you raise will you get a free look at the turn? or will he 3-bet here or lead into on a turn blank? if you can get a free card, try and raise the flop. if not, i'd play the hand the same.

FLOP: CALL OK. You have a BD Flush Draw to the Nuts. (1.5 outs) Your Kicker is higher than highest card on flop, giving you a likely 5 good outs to a set or two pair. (6.5 total outs)

TURN: FOLD Correct.

This is a good idea also. Often better than calling. Hopefully he doesn't 3-bet. As bozlax mentioned, there is also a chance of stealing the pot right here.

If the blinds are tight and the limper is loose I raise pf. The whole hand will play differently.

Ok I just read everyone else's response and no one else mentioned raising pf. Am I an idiot?
