I live in Minnesota. I've never been to AC, but have been to Vegas on several occasions. Is going to AC worth it, or should I just go to Vegas when I decide to take a poker trip?

AC is definitely getting better in the last few years as others compete to catch up with the Borgata.

That being said, unless its an easy drive to AC I'd say Vegas everytime.

Personally, I don't really think AC offers that much more than Vegas in terms of poker. The only exception may be is if you like to play 7 Card Stud. Much better 7CS action in AC.

In general AC is a crummy place. But it does have the beach if that interests you. Philly is also just an hour away.

AC is only worth it if you can drive.

I just took a trip to AC expecting a mini-Vegas. What I got was prostitute ridden hell hole. Spent almost all of my awake time at the Borgata, but there was absolutely nothing else to do. The night life sucked and the Boardwalk is way overrated.

Gots to go to Vegas.

Bob,

I hate to sound cliche here..however.. ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE ...go to Vegas.

This comes from an AC regular who has played in Vegas..once.

I go to AC because its a few hours drive. I'd much rather go to Vegas...

I'd have to say AC is fine if you just want to sit at the poker table pretty much every waking hour. However if you actually want to do other things, or be in a nice city I'd go to Vegas.

If it doesn't matter (cost wise) where you go I'd say Vegas 100%.

If all you are in interested in is poker.. then you will probably get the same out of each of them.

If you are interested in more than poker.. definently Vegas.

Although I think the games are softer in AC than Vegas.

If is not a road trip then LV(and I live one hour from AC).

This is accurate. The only reason to go to AC is because you can't get to vegas.

Dude... next time I'm in AC (2 weeks perhaps?) you gotta take me on a hunt for prostitutes. I must be clueless or something, I NEVER see them in AC. All I see are nasty south Jersey girls chatting to fratboys. They look like skanks, but not prostitutes. Help me!

When people ask me what's the difference between AC and Vegas, I always tell them "Atlantic City is like a small carnival in a town while Vegas is Disney World.".

The only reason I go to AC is because I live in South Jersey, and even then I only make the trip if I'm getting a comped room.

Should Las Vegas one day be destroyed in some massive conflagration, you would probably want to consider going to AC. I can think of no other reason.

having just about equal experience in AC and Vegas my advice would be ....

- to someone from Minnesota who hasn't been around all the gambling towns? def. head to vegas, because it will offer exactly what you'll expect out of a gambling trip

- to someone who has been around the block & is from a fast-paced major northeast or west coast city... but hasn't yet been to atlantic city? i would say try it, even take the flight out to ac that'll cost you a ton of bucks - it's something different from what your used to.. let's just say it's a changeup on the typical gambling town & the Borgata can just about hold it's own
