I think I'll be dead by 21012...
I mean really, if London starts planning now, they might have a shot. Even they should have a +ev for something in 19,000 years...

As a quasi-New Yorker, I am extremely glad that the NY bid failed miserably.

Is New York still going to build that sweet ass stadium for the Jets to play in? The animation of that thing looked amazing.

No. That deal died when the West Side stadium thing was kiboshed by the head of the City Council. I think the Jets are going to end up going in with the Giants new stadium in the Meadowlands.

All this British pride makes me sick. You wonder why the rest of the world thinks you're fat, stupid, and obnoxious. How can a country with such overly aggressive foriegn policy be given the olympics? This is a travesty.

What a great result!

The only way it could be made sweeter is if we'd beaten the French to get it.

Oh, wait a minute....................

There were 5 contenders

3 came from the Iraq Coalition
1 is a dictatorship
1 voted 20% vote a Nazi in their last Presidential election

I think you will always be able to pick holes in any country. Also, not sure why you are talking about British pride. Any country would be proud to hold the games.

NY would have obviously been the wiser choice. I mean, it's so great that you can type NY and anyone in the entire world will know it's New York. Can you say the same for London? No, L just doesn't work.

Well, at least it'll be your most prized city blown all to hell instead of ours. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I thought it was pretty obvious that I was actually mocking my own country, not yours. Just a little sarcasm, no ill will.

Yeah, beating the French is a simple waiting game...Eventually, they always surrender.

Easy money.
