View Full Version : Downswing Pep Rally!

Yeah, I know this is done every week, but, I need to get this out of my system. I am currently experiencing my worst downswing yet at the 215s. I was previously a 19% player over 750 SnGs so I am quite sure this is variance. However, that does not make it any easier.

In the last 66 tournaments i have cashed only 10 times which equates to a whopping 39 buyin drop. Now, I have over 60 more buyins in my BR so I do not think dropping levels is necessary quite yet.

What I would like is some motivation for when I wake up and try again tomorrow afternoon! What are some of your worst downswings that you have come back from? Did your ROI EVER recover? Show some love /images/graemlins/grin.gif Thanks guys.

Your ROI is not supposed to recover. ROI is ROI and downswings are a part of your ROI. It's more likely your new ROI is closer to your true ROI than the old one

Non Sequitur Alert = "Raptor in Vegas" does not mean NORAPTORIN$215's....I played this AM with Raptor during the interregnum (4:00AM - 8:00AM) that defines our mutual state of consciousness....He had, just then, finished a session with some slot machines that he feels are "speaking" to him and I, in my infinite capacity to play poorly, was just starting a 5 buyin downswing....

I don't even remember and details about it, to tell you the truth, I'm sure it hurt, but I just kept playing through it. I have had two like that. Fortunately, they were at the $11s and $22s.

ask yourself a question and be honest.

"Am i playing bad in this downswing?"

WebGuySteve

I am good at being honest with myself, I know when I'm playing poorly, and now is not it. I am playing well for sure. Just gotta play through it. If it doesn't turn around soon, there's always the 100s.

The correct answer is that the 200's are rigged. I am down like 38 buyins in July in the 200's and up 30 buyins in the 100's while playing 4/2.

KipperBoob is obviously referring to the glaring absence of one JohnnyBeef with this $10.00 word. That, or the recent lack of Slacker presence at the tables (truly a force), but on haiatus due to lack of funds....

As for the slots "speaking" to Raptor, I have heard those voices and can guarantee that Raptor can't understand a word as they don't use language like WTF? Ship it! Batches! Bwhaahaa and so forth.

Rock Vegas Raptor! Rock the interregnum Skipper! Nobody else is awake at that hour anyway. MooHaaHaa.

Stud hi/lo is a little bit nicer because you'll see 5 guys on 6th street capping with an 8 high low draw against a made wheel.

Anyways I played a $33 Stud hi SNG today and won it, biatches.

Guess its time I chip in.

With a micro bank roll first of June, I spent a LOT of time in the last month building a good bankroll to play the 10's. I was one win from my bankroll goal of $550.00 on friday.

Today I sit with $150.00

I can't hit ANYTHING. I haven't made a hand with Big Slick in 4 days. It seems every pocket pair I play leads Aces on the flop. Over half of my blind steals OTB are lost.

As one final long shot, I'm letting my wife play tonight while I'm at work. I doubt it will lead to anything, but it can't be worse than my last few days.

I've searched my HH's and found what I think are a couple of leaks. Plugging them has resulted in more finishes OTB, but I end OOTM.

I wish everyone luck thats down. Hopefully we will prevail.

I could show you that in cyclical form but over a several month and thousands of STT period with pretty much no 'above positive profit threshhold upswing.' Oh, and the upswing portion is more gradual.

The noose in my room keeps getting bigger and bigger too for some reason. It's slowed somewhat...but soon I can like noose a small family I'm pretty sure.

Anyone who wants to look over my thousands of HHs and tell me what ROI I was 'supposed' to get given 0 variance would be my hero.

That is what has been happening to me all week MSU or WSU, or whatever you wanna be called /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I think my graph is gonna look pretty similar to suitedsixes after this. I dropped 20 in a row during this, and 15+ in a row twice /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I have since gotten it down to 39 buyins, so things are turning around pretty quickly, hopefully it'll keep up for me tomorrow! This has turned into quite the pep rally!
