Hi, I haven't posted here in a while because I've been finishing uni but I need your advice.

I have played 18,815 hands at 0.5/1 and have a WR of 4.42BB/100

I feel really comforatble at this level and the pots sizes are now a bit small for my liking - so I've moved up to 1/2. A few times I have moved back down to 0.5/1 because I have had NO SUCCESS at this level and I'm very frustrated.

I know sample size is an issue but I'm just saying that I am already concerned - I cannot see where I am going wrong. How long do you think I should wait before I should really start to worry.

Currently I've played 4000 hands and have a WR (or loss rate!) of -4.43BB/100.

My bankroll can sustain this (its roughly $2000) but obviously I dont like to see my money disappear.

Help - any advice appreciated.

Sample size is small, but are you playing this higher limit any differently? If your using pokertracker can you please post your stats from both limits.

i used to have the same problem, i think everyone has the same problem.
to beat .5/1 for all its worth you have to play pretty laggy, and when you move up to 1/2 you usually get f.ucked.
next time you try it, take it slow with only one table, and make sure your not playing too many hands.

So you're saying the key to beating .5/1 is to become have LAG like tendancies?

Your WSD and W$SD are quite a bit lower at 1/2 than what you had at .5/1. That suggests you're just running bad.

Tone down the postflop aggression dude. You're playing hyper-aggressively. You can play too aggressively -- I think both your flop and turn AF are far too high. This means you could be betting too often on flops when check/calling might be a better play, particularly if the flop has missed you. (It's still correct to bet on some flops that missed you, but I think you might be auto-betting when you preflop raise too much. Stop that.)

So what this means is you could be putting too much money into hands that you don't stand much chance of winning. Try to choose your spots to be aggressive more carefully; you're playing as though you want to take a battering ram through every hand.

Make table selection a priority.
